2nd Annual Leadership Retreat - November 9-11, 2006!
T he 2nd Annual Leadership Retreat is set for November 9-11, 2006 at the Summer Mills Conference Center in Salado, Texas. The registration of just $100 includes 2 nights lodging and 5 scrumptious meals. The focus of this retreat is to conclude our initial work on spiritual gifts and personality from the Membership & Ministry Assessment Tool; to review intensively our 48 ministries through the S.W.O.C. (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Challenges). This will empower us to know what each ministry needs to work on for the upcoming year. This year, Pastor Campbell plans to meet with each ministry of the church every quarter to review their progress and help that ministry fulfill its divine assignment.
The retreat will also provide opportunity for vision planning for the next year and future plans for a Strategic Planning Team initiative which has already begun. The scripture informs us that “without a vision, the people will cast off restraint” (Proverbs 29"18 NIV). With a vision we will prosper in the Lord’s assignment for this house. All leaders are expected to attend this important meeting to help shape the future of our church! Register and pay today! Please see Brother Raymond Felton for more info!

Getting Ready for the Future: Television!
H arold Wilson once said that “he who rejects change is the architect of decay. The only human institution which rejects progress is the cemetery.” In his book, Who Moved My Cheese?, Spencer Johnson asks another question, “are you being buried by change, or coming alive with it?” The Word of the Lord speaks to our “now” through the prophet Isaiah in chapter 43:18-19 (NLT) "But forget all that — it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do a brand-new thing. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will
make a pathway through the wilderness for my people to come home. I will create rivers for them in the desert!” “Church on the Hill,” what is our answer? We are Moving with the Cheese! God is moving in this place and this is the place to be! On Sunday, October 22nd @ the 11:00 a.m. worship celebration, KPLE television (a TBN affiliate) will be present to film our worship service for use in a commercial ad about the ministry. This is just the beginning so look for more in the near future!
It is my desire that you “prosper and be in good health even as your soul (seat of your will, intellect, and emotion) prospers.” (3 John 2). It is our goal to provide this update as often as possible. For those who have capacity to receive it electronically, we hope to send it via that route shortly.
