Leadership Retreat Ready to Go!

Ready for the Future!

T he 2nd Annual Leadership Retreat is set for November 9-11, 2006 at the Summer Mills Conference Center in Salado, Texas. The registration of just $100 includes 2 nights lodging and 5 scrumptious meals. The focus of this retreat is to:

1) review spiritual gifts and personality from the Membership & Ministry Assessment Tool;

2) assess our 48 ministries through the S.W.O.C. (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Challenges)

3) set our goals and plans for the upcoming conference year 2006-07 which include a look at our facility needs.

The retreat will also provide opportunity for a further look forward toward the future through a Strategic Planning Team initiative which has already begun. The scripture informs us that “without a vision, the people will cast off restraint” (Proverbs 29"18 NIV). With a vision we will prosper in the Lord’s assignment for this house. All leaders are expected to attend this important meeting to help shape the future of our church! Register and pay today! There are only 7 slots left! Please see Brother Raymond Felton for more info! Leaders don’t forget to bring your spiritual gifts assessment!

ACAMEC on KPLE!

S pencer Johnson - Who Moved My Cheese? asks a question: “What would you do if you weren’t afraid?” The taping on Sunday, October 22nd was a blessing! Our new television commercial began running on KPLE TV cable Channel 45 and UHF Channel 31 on Wednesday, November 1st. The commercial spot was previewed last evening @ Worship & the Word! God is moving in this place and this is the place to be! This is just the beginning so look for more in the near future!

______, Your Church Needs You!

B een busy lately, pastor. I don’t have the time. Work and school keep me going non-stop. These are just some of the many reasons (notice I did not say excuses) for not giving of your time to the work of the ministry. Stewardship requires that we give of our TIME, TALENT and TREASURE in the service of the Lord. Let me ask a question? How long did you sit in front of the television to watch that movie or football game? OUCH! How much time did you spend window shopping at the mall without the intention of buying anything! Here’s another question: “will you give one (1) hour per week to share your talent (gifts, skills, abilities) and your time with your church?” Yes? Great. There are many areas where you can help out. Look for more information from the Lay Ministry and of course, you can call or drop by the office to know how you can help. We need, persons to help with the weekly worship guide, bulletin boards and other tasks. We need persons who can publish this newsletter that you are reading right now. Hope to hear from you.

Women of Honor on the move!

T he Women of Honor breakfast was an outstanding blessing to not only our sisters but also the entire church. Praise the Lord for Queen Melita Campbell and all of our outstanding queens of the church!

Mission House Needs!

T he Mission House located at 1102 Jefferis just four doors from the church is in need of donations of non-perishable items. The stock has run low and we need your help immediately. Also, if you would like to partner with a TEAM to provide a Thanksgiving basket for a family in need, please contact the Mission House @ 254.690.2120 or see Sister Cathy Wilson or any of our missionaries. A tub for canned goods is located in the Fellowship Hall of the church. Please drop in a few cans on Sundays or you may take your goods to the Mission House on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

From the Pastor’s Heart

Again let me express my appreciation to the entire membership for the way in which you have supported the ministry during this year. It is a joy and delight to share God’s goodness with you. It is my desire that you “prosper and be in good health even as your soul (seat of your will, intellect, and emotion) prospers.” (3 John 2).

It is my hope that all of our leaders are preparing to attend the 2nd Annual Leadership Retreat next week. God has shaped us for success as we work together as a TEAM. There is no “I” in TEAM. For those leaders who have not completed the Membership & Ministry Profile, a special session will be held on this Sunday afternoon, November 5th from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Church. Hope to see you in the house!

Our future is secure in the Lord. We have a destiny to fulfill to the glory of God. The time is NOW! Let’s move and take our rightful place as CHOSEN vessels in a CHOSEN house for the glory of the Lord.
