Exalt the Lord! Elevate the Faithful! Escalate the Work!
T he 2nd Annual Leadership Retreat was a tremendous blessing in the life of the Church. History will look back at these two (2) days of communion with the Lord and fellowship with one another as a landmark in the life of ACAMEC. We laughed and cried; worshiped and wept; prayed and ate...all to the glory of God and the betterment of our church. This year’s leadership theme is: Exalt the Lord! Elevate the Faithful! Escalate the Work! In all that we do we must first magnify and lift up the Lord. Then in our ministries we will elevate the faithful - those who are consistent in their support and participation. Jesus will not say “well done good and successful...good and gifted....good and talented...good and educated servant.” He will say “well done good and FAITHFUL servant.” Lastly, this conference year, our aim is to ESCALATE the work. This means that we will intensify and increase the scope of what God has told us to do. We have a seven-point mission statement which embraces 1) worship 2) teaching 3) evangelism 4) mission 5) ministries 6) fellowship and 7) discipleship. We believe that God is looking for an increase in these areas of opportunity to advance His Kingdom through us! We will do so, the Lord being our helper!
The capstone of this event was Leadership Sunday. Pastor Bob Miller, retired pastor in the city of Killeen with over 50 years of pastoral ministry, blessed the house with a challenge from the well known parable of the little boy with two fish and five loaves of bread. The message: A Lad, A Loaf and the Lord, warmed our hearts and reminded us of our commitment to share in the ministry to be a blessing to others. The top of the day was the installation and anointing of our leaders. Over 80 leaders have submitted to God’s purpose and plan in this house to “Lead By Example” in their spiritual lives, attendance and giving.
Taping of Worship Set for December 17th!
W ell, ACAMEC is on the move! As the Lord moves we are moving with Him. On Sunday, December 17th, we will record for television our first worship service. To God be the glory! KPLE TV (cable Channel 45 and UHF Channel 31) a part of the TBN network, will record our Sunday Worship Celebration. The Cathedral Mass Choir (consisting of members of all adult choirs) will minister in music. The Cathedral Dancers will share in the ministry of dance. The worship celebration will air on Sunday, December 31st from 6-7:00 p.m. just in time to touch lives who are preparing for the New Year. The Worship Celebration will be @ 10:30 a.m.
T he cheese is moving again! For many years the church has worshiped twice on Sunday @ 8 & 11 a.m. The original purpose of the second (8:00 a.m.) worship service was to facilitate the growth that occurred in the 1980's. Since that time the church has been through many transitions in its’ wilderness journey to the Promised Land. Many have moved, relocated, changed church’s. Many have remained faithful!
Y our church needs you! We have opportunities for you to share your gifts. We need persons who will work in communications in areas such as: 1) weekly worship guide 2) this newsletter 3) bulletin boards 4) data entry 5) office assistants. Is the Lord speaking to YOU! Will you give one (1) hour per week to share your talent (gifts, skills, abilities) and your time with your church?” Yes? Great. Please give us a call at the office.
N ovember has proven to be a pivotal month in the life of our church. The 2nd Annual Leadership Retreat was a blessing beyond my expectations. My desire is to see you blessed with healing, health and wholeness in every area of your life (3 John 2). As we move into the last month of the year, let’s do all we can to see the name of the Lord exalted! Again this year, we will share in the Birthday Gift for Jesus’ (Christmas Offering). What shall we do? Just as the wise men came bearing gifts in WORSHIP, we will bear gifts to the King of Kings! What shall we bring? Wise men brought Him gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Let’s bring the Lord GOLD - $100 - to bless His work. Special envelopes will be available each Sunday during the month of Advent. Gleaners will be available for our children and youth. Start giving something today towards His work. Remember, it is the celebration of His birthday!
